Deputies were called to the Clifon Maverick on 3249 F Road, where a male drove to the scene covered in blood and claimed he was shot. The victim told deputies that a male approached him on foot and assaulted him before shooting him in the arm. The suspect fled the scene and was unable to be located. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

CLIFTON, Colo. (KREX) — The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident in Clifton Sunday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to the Clifton Maverick on 3249 F Road around 4:40 p.m. An employee at the gas station called 911 and reported that a male drove to the address covered in blood and said he’d been shot.
The victim told deputies a male approached his vehicle on foot near 33 Road and the railroad crossing, assaulted him then shot him in the arm. The suspect was said to have fled the area on foot; officials were unable to locate the suspect after conducting an extensive search of the area and neighborhood canvas.
The victim was transported to the hospital and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
