SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 28-year-old man was stabbed outside a recreation center in Otay Mesa Sunday night, according to San Diego police.

The stabbing occurred just before midnight in the parking lot of the Montgomery Waller Recreation Center at 3020 Coronado Ave.

According to SDPD, an unknown suspect approached the victim, who was leaving the basketball courts, and stabbed him twice — once in the chest and once in the torso.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available, although SDPD said the victim identified the individual as a male juvenile.

An investigation by SDPD’s Southern Division remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the division at 619-424-0400 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 to remain anonymous.
