Investigators reveal new details on California man accused of killing his estranged wife in Pinetop
Officials with the Navajo County Sheriff's Office gave new details surrounding an investigation into a murder in Pinetop that led to the arrest of a farmer in California. Michael Abatti, a California farming mogul, is accused of murdering his estranged wife, Kerri Ann Abatti. The victim was found dead at her Pinetop home on Nov. 20 after suffering a gunshot wound. Abatti and Kerri were reportedly involved in a legal battle over money after their divorce in 2023. The couple had been living an upper-class lifestyle during their more than three decades of marriage. After their split, Abatti requested an increase to $30,000 per month in temporary spousal support, citing poor farming years and high shipping costs as reasons for the increase. He also stated that he couldn't afford the increase due to European shifts in crop-buying and rising shipping costs.
