Maynilad pours nearly P10B into La Mesa ahead of dry season
Maynilad Water Services Inc. has undertaken nearly P10 billion in rehabilitation and improvement projects at its La Mesa facilities to strengthen water treatment, recovery and storage capacity as it prepares for potentially drier conditions associated with El Niño. Maynilad Water Services Inc. has invested nearly P10 billion in rehabilitation and improvement projects at its La Mesa facilities to strengthen water treatment, recovery and storage capacity. The improvements include upgrades to water treatment processes, additional raw water storage, expanded recovery and augmentation systems, and replacement of aging equipment. Major projects include the upgrading of La Mesa Water Treatment Plant 1 (LMTP1), which can handle peak raw water turbidity levels of up to 2,000 NTU compared to its original design capability of approximately 300 NTU. The upgrades are intended to reduce operational constraints during periods of high raw water turbulence. Maynilad is also expanding its water recovery and raw water augmentation system to provide a combined capacity of approximately 125 MLD to 170 MLD once all three systems become operational.
