Victor Mesa Jr. costs the Rays a run with outfield blunder in Game 3
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Victor Mesa Jr. cost his team a run with a blunder in the outfield during Game 3 of the World Series on Monday. Victor Mesa Jr. made a mistake during Game 3 of the World Series, costing the Tampa Bay Rays a run against the Milwaukee Brewers. The mistake occurred during the third inning of the game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Brewers were leading 1-0 and had runners at first and second base when Mesa failed to secure a ball that fell out of his glove and caused him to lose his balance. This allowed lead runner Jake Bauers to score. The next batter, Brice Turang, also scored and it is unclear if Bauer would have scored if not for Mesa's misplay.
