Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center to hold film festival

The event will showcase three dozen short films by emerging filmmakers across Colorado. The evening showtimes are 7-9 p.m. on both nights, while the matinee shows are not children's films, but considered family-friendly. Tickets can be purchased in advance at gmaec.org or at the GMAEC building at 195 W. Main St. in downtown Cedaredeg.

Exploring the theme of "Meet the Future Filmmakers Today," the Cedaredge-based Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center (GMAEC) will highlight three dozen short films by emerging filmmakers.
The Grand Mesa Short Film Festival will showcase filmmaking talent across Colorado on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, with two evening showings and one matinee. Aspiring filmmakers have created short films in documentary, animation, musical, drama, and horror categories.
Evening showtimes are 7-9 p.m. on both April 12 and 13. Different films will be shown each evening. Parents are advised that many of the evening films contain adult content. The matinee showtimes are 1-3 p.m. on April 13 only. Although the matinee shows are not children's films, they are appropriate for all ages and considered family-friendly.
A complete description of all festival films can be found at gmaec.org. A film festival weekend pass covering admissions to both evening shows and the single matinee show can be purchased for $35. A single admission for the Saturday matinee or the Friday or Saturday evening movies is $15 for adults and $5 for students.
Although tickets may be purchased at the door, seating is limited, and advance purchase is recommended.
