Exploring the theme of “Meet the Future Filmmakers Today," the Cedaredge-based Grand Mesa Arts & Events Center (GMAEC) will highlight three dozen short films by emerging filmmakers. On Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, with two evening showings and one matinee, the Grand Mesa Short Film Festival will showcase filmmaking talent from across Colorado. Aspiring filmmakers have created short films in the categories of documentary, animation, musical, drama, and horror.

Evening showtimes are 7-9 p.m. on both April 12 and 13. Different films will be shown each evening. Parents are advised that many of the evening films contain adult content. The matinee showtimes are 1-3 p.m. on April 13 only. Although the matinee shows are not children’s films, they are appropriate for all ages and considered family friendly.

A complete description of all festival films can be found at the GMAEC website listed below. A film festival weekend pass covering admissions to both evening shows and the single matinee show can be purchased for $35. A single admission for either the Saturday matinee or the Friday or Saturday evening movies is $15 for adults and $5 for students.

Although tickets may be purchased at the door, seating is limited, and advance purchase is recommended.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the GMAEC website https://www.gmaec.org/ or at the GMAEC building at 195-West Main Street in downtown Cedaredge. Call 970-856-9195 for building hours and further information.
