Mesa Drone Company Scouts East Valley Factory Site
A Mesa drone startup just opened its doors — and it's already eyeing a bigger East Valley factory next. Drone as a Service, a subsidiary of ZenaTech, is expanding into the East Valley for a new manufacturing facility that could initially employ 45 people. The expansion is part of a larger effort to address a labor shortage in Arizona's construction industry, which the Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors estimates needs more than 40,000 additional construction workers. The new manufacturing site is intended for expanded manufacturing and assembly beyond what the Javelina Avenue office currently handles. This expansion is not the first time ZenaDrone has moved into the Phoenix area, with the company previously planning to produce U.S. defense and NATO drones. The company's defense ambitions extend into counter-drone technology, with initial flight testing of its Interceptor P-1 platform near its Mesa facility.
