These Arizona hotels are among the most haunted in U.S.
Ghostly cowboys, a jilted bride and unexplained encounters haunt these historic properties. The National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Hotels of America program has released its 2026 list of the 25 most haunted hotels in the nation. The Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley, Prescott’s Hassayampa Inn and Tubac Golf Resort & Spa in Tubac were included. The list highlights historic lodgings whose "lore and legends make for memorable stays." The Hermos Inn, for instance, has a history of unexplained occurrences attributed to its original owner, Alonzo Megargee, who built the property’s original adobe structures in 1935. Since his death in 1960, Megargeo’re ghost has reportedly been seen by staff and guests in rooms or the resort’’S bar. The Hassayam Inn in Prescott has also reported sightings of a mysterious woman in a pink gown and unexplained objects moving on their own.
