Arizona business opens doors for employees with criminal records

An Arizona-based luxury door manufacturer is prioritizing hiring formerly incarcerated individuals to help them successfully re-enter society. An Arizona-based company, Awake Window & Door Company, has opened doors for formerly incarcerated people seeking a second chance at its doors. The company, which employs 110 employees with criminal records, intentionally hires those who may be overlooked due to a criminal record. The business is expected to generate 40 million in revenue this year and plans to expand to a new facility. The CEO, Scott Gates, co-founder and CEO of Awake, credits the company with creating a business that focuses on giving these individuals a fair chance and providing them with tools they need to succeed. Jessica Coz, who reentered society after 15 years of incarceration, has been promoted multiple times and is grateful for her position at Awake.
